The Flipped Classroom
The flipped classroom is a teaching phenomenon that is occurring as a response to the influx of technology in the classroom. It is a method which engages students by making them responsible for their own learning. Instead of teachers playing the role of "sage on the stage" (ie, standing in front of the class, lecturing and writing notes on the board) teachers become the "guide on the side", helping students answer guiding questions to discover material on their own. The Flipped Classroom is a teaching strategy for partnering effectively.

Problem & Project Based Learning
Problem and Project based learning are teaching methods that are student centered, collaborative, inquiry based lessons. Content is discovered & explored by students as they work together to answer questions, find solutions and create tangible projects and products. Problem or Project based learning is a fun and exciting way to begin to integrate inquiry based learning into the classroom by interesting students in how the topics they study affect the world around them.
